This location sits right off a major street in the Northridge area, which is convenient. However, the parking lot situation is a bit of a downside. While there’s plenty of parking available, it can get congested during rush hour when everyone is stopping by for dinner. When entering the parking lot, it’;s important to be cautious of the drive-thru cars exiting from the opposite direction if you turn left. If you turn right, there’s usually more parking space, but reaching the end of the lot can be a hassle as there’s no exit, requiring you to maneuver to turn around. It would be beneficial if they added an exit at that end to streamline the process.
The food quality here matches that of other locations, and they’re efficient once you’ve placed your order. Additionally, there’s ample seating available on the patio, which I personally find to be a preferable spot for dining as it offers a great opportunity for people-watching.
We were thrilled to welcome the arrival of Raising Cane’s in Northridge, and it has consistently lived up to our expectations each time we’ve visited.
The basic combo is ample for the two of us to share, although I usually request the fries to be cooked a bit longer, as I prefer them crispy. The sauce is absolutely divine and pairs wonderfully with the chicken. While I’m not particularly fond of Texas toast, my partner enjoys creating a whole sandwich with chicken, fries, and sauce.
The most tedious aspect of our visits is navigating the parking lot and the drive-thru/pickup area. Despite this inconvenience, the delicious food makes it all worthwhile.
Parking can be challenging due to the constant flow of people entering and exiting, often resulting in a wait for available spots. I highly recommend having a passenger who can quickly hop out and run inside. Additionally, there’s usually a significant line, so it’s a bit frustrating to wait for parking and then queue up again to place an order.
The interior decor is charming and modern, and it’s typically bustling with activity.
Looking ahead, I believe the Valley could benefit from the addition of a Sonic… 😉
We opted for the 6-piece chicken fingers meal, which came with a slice of bread and French fries, priced at $17. It’s probably the priciest fried chicken fast food I’ve encountered. I’ve never encountered chicken fingers so tender that they wiggled when shaken; they were remarkably tender and juicy. Overall, the taste is standard, with a light coating resulting in less crispiness. The French fries were okay, but the bread stole the show for me—I loved its salty-crusted butter and sweet flavor. If I had to give a compliment, it would be for the bread, which I enjoyed more than anything else on the tray.
The staff were enjoyable and friendly, and the ambiance was bright, typical of fast-food establishments. It could serve as a pleasant hangout spot for school-age individuals.
With the plethora of chicken eateries in the area, I approached Raising Cane’s with skepticism. It’s important to note that if you prefer bone-in chicken, this may not be your ideal spot. However, for aficionados of chicken nuggets and fingers, this is the place to be. I found the food satisfying, especially with the addition of their signature sauce which elevates the flavor. Drawing a comparison, Raising Cane’s could be likened to Chick Fil A, but with a distinct southern flair that sets it apart in a favorable way.
Arriving at 2pm on a busy Sunday, I found the line extending out the door, with the drive-thru equally backed up. This wasn’t unusual, as I’ve observed similar scenes on past Sundays, though Superbowl Sunday likely added to the frenzy.
Opting for the Caniac combo, which includes 6 chicken fingers, crinkle fries, toast, coleslaw, and a drink, I found the wait worthwhile. The crispy batter paired perfectly with the Cane sauce, creating a satisfying combination. While the sweet tea leaned a bit too heavily on the sweet side for my taste, I could easily dilute it with regular tea.
Considering the crowds, the service was decent, with orders called out by name when ready. Finding a table proved challenging due to the large crowd, so we opted to take our food to go.
Despite the long lines, I’m eager to return, though I do wish they’d consider opening more locations to alleviate the daily lunch rush.
I saw the advertising on the building .., coming soon Raising Canes.., what the heck is a Raising Canes? We Californians never heard of it? More research., fastest growing food franchise in America! Hmmm.., had to check it out! It’s first week grand opening. 8 security guards patrolling the lot!! Too many cars to wait for drive through! So I waited another few days went off hours. Order the 3 piece chicken tenders combo. Hot, fresh, melts in the mouth. Lemonade is to die for! Now I can see why the big hype! This place is affordable and good! Limited menu, but you just go there for the chickens!!
Venturing into this Cane’s for the first time, I was immediately intrigued by the drive-thru setup. Multiple lanes offered different stages of the ordering process, with one requiring a “looptie loop” for food pickup—a novelty that amused both me and my kids.
The menu delivered what you’d anticipate from Cane’s, although the chicken fingers struck me as smaller than expected. Nevertheless, everything tasted fresh, which was a definite plus. I might return solely for the enjoyable drive-thru experience!
Excited to try Cane’s for the first time, I opted to go inside rather than brave the hectic drive-thru. As expected on a Friday night, the place was bustling, but the indoor line moved swiftly, and I had my food within 10 minutes. Overall, I enjoyed their chicken and toast, but it was their sauce that truly stole the show! The fries were a bit soggy, but a quick fix in the air fryer at home made all the difference.
Inside, there was ample seating, which was a plus. However, the parking lot was a bit of a challenge. With the drive-thru cars blocking the entrance, I opted to park across the street and walk over. While it wasn’t a bad experience overall, it wasn’t exactly amazing either.
I had a craving for Canes sauce, so I made the drive to the Burbank location for a Caniac Combo, a Cup of Canes sauce, and Sweet Tea. The food quality remains consistently mid-tier across all locations, but I still prefer Canes over several other fast food options.
The line at this location tends to fill up quickly, so it’s best to expect a 5-10 minute wait time from ordering to receiving your food. While parking isn’t too difficult, there aren’t many spots available considering the crowd.
Inside, the atmosphere is relatively clean, and the staff is friendly. However, in my opinion, it’s not worth the drive from LA just for Canes.
This Canes location is notably small, one of the smallest I’ve come across. It seems it may not have been designed to accommodate long lines, especially considering the unexpected crowds it attracts. The limited space inside leads to a congested environment, with lines wrapping around the few available tables. This proximity can be uncomfortable for diners, with people standing closely nearby.
Upon arrival, I found myself among 20 others in line, with no available tables for dining in. It would be reassuring if the establishment implemented measures to control traffic flow for safety reasons.
The waiting area is also cramped, particularly during peak hours. The drink area, tucked in the corner, becomes crowded as patrons wait for their orders, often resulting in confusion with names.
Parking is a challenge due to the small lot, and finding a spot can feel like a stroke of luck. Maneuvering out of the lot, especially with traffic from the drive-thru, requires extra caution.
Despite the challenges, the food is enjoyable. My companion and I opted for the 6-tender combo, excluding slaw and with extra bread. Lemonade is available for an additional charge and is kept behind the counter. The staff is plentiful, although not all service lines may be open at all times.
Securing an outdoor table was a stroke of luck for us, especially since we had our dog with us.
In summary, be prepared to exercise patience and expect a lengthy wait. Canes has a dedicated following, and this location is no exception.
