Love the store but I have to say you are lacking in the section or selection of books on atheism and philosophy. I have gone to locations all over the the country and I think I have purchased most of the atheism and philosophy books in your stores I have visited. The bible, christian, and spirituality sections are huge. Take some space away from those sections. I buy a lot of books from Amazon and directly from atheist authors. There are a lot of us who are atheist and enjoy philosophy. That section deserves at least 2 bookshelves but there is less than one in each B&N I go to.
Found this book for my friend who never read Jack London. I think it is perfect, ordering was easy, free shipping with my B&N membership. Delivered as promised by the deadline. Very satisfying experience. Thank you
We’ve got our parcel at 10-13-2022.
Our order content was three thin light by the wieght books , all soft covered.
Our order cost to us 200+ AUD.
It was smashed box with damaged corner.
When we opened the box we realized the box NOT FIT to order content at all, as it̵7;s too BIG.
Meanwhile all three books weren’t wrapped at all and haven’t any spacers in between books and box.All three items in the box got some kind of damage incl.n
NOT fixable water damage. We can’t use the books at its current conditions.
We did report about our problem to B@N customer service immediately.
They (Oscar) were really marvelous : fast prompt answers, perfect communication and most of all above -very effective and professional actions to fix our problem.
Thank you and regards.
This review is for my online and gift card experience with Barnes & Noble. I’d give zero stars if I could. I’d say to avoid ordering online if you can help it – especially if you are using a gift card. It’s also best to not give people B&N gift cards period (unless you 100% know that they’ll use it in the store and love this particular store for some reason).
I placed an online order only for it to be cancelled soon after. I was told I needed to call first in order for them to remove an authorization hold so I could use it. After waiting a couple days I could place the order. Then the largest part of my order did not get delivered. I understand that this is the carrier’s fault, but the handling of this situation to get a resolution has been terrible.
After multiple communications (lotsa time wasted and mostly incompetent and/or ineffective assistance), a replacement order was processed, and the delivery failed again. So I requested a refund to the gift card in order to place the order for pick-up in store. It was processed and I was assured that I could immediately use the gift card. But no. The order was cancelled soon after placing. Once again on the phone, I was informed there’s nothing wrong with the giftcard and that it was a random cancellation. This is my worst consumer experience trying to have an order fulfilled. It’s been a month from the initial order date and I still do not have the item I ordered. Regardless of payment method, money has been paid and the funds should be usable.
I’ve refused to give up on being satisfied as a matter of principle. It seems that their gift cards and online ordering process is flawed and maybe the gift cards are meant to be a scam. If it’s this difficult to use them, maybe customers will give up on using the gift cards and B&N can just get paid money for nothing.
My books arrived in two days of ordering them but one is folded pretty badly, I’ve got thick skin so I won’t return it but it is mildly annoying.
EDIT: They offered to replace my book within 24 hours of this review being posted
Absolutely love this place they have almost every book you could ever need and want!! They are kinda pricey compared to other places but the books are always in great shape and they always have new releases and they have magazines and also learning activity books for kids. Books for everyone!! You think you can’t find a book definitely look here cause most likely you will find it
The B&N store in Birkdale Village is impressively large, boasting a vast selection of books, including many elusive titles. If you can’t locate what you’re looking for, assistance is readily available from knowledgeable staff. Their magazine assortment is unparalleled, complemented by a spacious Starbucks sitting area.
Prices for books and other merchandise are reasonable, with frequent discounts on selected items adding to the appeal. However, it’s worth noting that parking can be somewhat challenging during peak times, so plan accordingly for your visit.
This website experience was disappointing. Despite a prominent BOGO 50% off banner, the deal failed to apply at checkout. Furthermore, one of the books I sought was inexplicably absent from the listings, despite being by a major author. Prices proved to be higher compared to Amazon, and expedited shipping incurred additional charges. Even after attempting to use a gift card, the system still demanded credit card information, causing frustration. Despite numerous attempts, I only managed to complete my order without a credit card after multiple clicks and page refreshes. Customer service contact yielded no resolution, as I ultimately had to navigate the order process independently. Regrettably, the promised BOGO offer never materialized. If not for the gift card, I would have abandoned the purchase altogether. I strongly advise against giving B&N gift cards and recommend exploring alternative gifting options.
