It’s disheartening to see how DICK’S Sporting Goods has shifted away from its roots in outdoor activities. The reduction in their camping and fishing departments, coupled with their stance against hunting, is disappointing, especially considering that hunting was the foundation of the company. As a result, I’ve opted to do my shopping online or visit Sportsman’s Warehouse for my outdoor needs. Additionally, I now purchase clothing and footwear elsewhere, and I’m reluctant to shop there for my grandkids’ sporting equipment.
My recent online order experience with DICK’S left me extremely disappointed. I purchased a pair of lacrosse cleats for my son, opting for same-day delivery and received a confirmation email stating delivery between 4-7 pm. When the delivery window passed, I contacted customer service via chat, and they assured me the delivery was still on track. However, by 10 pm, the package had not arrived despite reassurances from customer service.
The next day, I contacted DICK’S again and learned that there had been a technical error, resulting in the cancellation of my order. Although the representative promised a discount and a reorder for same-day delivery, I was later informed that the item was not available for same-day shipping. This lack of coordination and communication was frustrating, especially considering the initial assurances given.
Despite speaking with a supervisor who offered a nominal compensation of 150 DICK’S points, equivalent to a $5 value, and a reorder with standard shipping, the overall experience left me deeply dissatisfied. As a youth league coach who has relied on DICK’S for years, I can no longer recommend their services to the families of my players due to these major issues with their online shop and ineffective customer service.
Warning: Beware of Scam Company
I strongly advise against purchasing from this company. I bought a pair of shoes from them, and within just two months of extremely minimal wear, the shoes completely fell apart. These were supposed to be quality shoes, and it’s unacceptable for them to deteriorate so quickly, especially after only 50 days of use.
When I contacted customer service for assistance, they displayed a lack of concern and were unhelpful. It’s clear they prioritize taking money over providing genuine assistance.
Avoid this company at all costs. They’re quick to take your money but even quicker to disregard your concerns and offer no help.
Disappointing Shopping Experience
My recent experience at this store was extremely frustrating. I returned a jacket that I was overcharged for, only to be met with blame from the cashier, who accused me of not realizing the jacket was in the wrong place. Instead of taking responsibility, she proceeded to blame other individuals, creating further inconvenience. Eventually, I received my refund, but the entire ordeal left a sour taste in my mouth.
Moreover, the store’s already high prices make this experience even more disheartening. Moving forward, I have decided to take my business elsewhere.
Warning: Potential Scam Experience
Unfortunately, I had to give a 1-star rating because it was the minimum option available. I placed an order that never arrived, despite being provided with a tracking link. The responses I received were generic and lacked any meaningful information or resolution. Despite my efforts to follow up, the company refused to refund or redeliver the goods.
I strongly advise against making any purchases through this company, as they appear to be operating dishonestly and may be engaging in fraudulent activities.
